Thoughts: Voice Memos
From this time forth I make you hear new things, hidden things which you have not known.
Isaiah 48:6 (RSV)
9/8/24… I decided a few moments ago to break out the laptop and work in this journal which is dedicated to Jesus and my love for Him. Figured I’d go through my voice memo ramblings which are usually me getting some clarity from God about whatever He wants to share with me. I definitely need to do them more often because I randomly get these epiphanies that I think are coming directly from God. They just pop up in my head, and they make sense. But I get lazy or distracted or forgetful so don’t usually get them out.
Anyway, I was poking around looking for a bible passage to include above that would speak to suddenly feeling a sense of knowing about God, the life of Jesus, our purpose here on earth, or whatever is related to these things. I have a book of bible passages and decided to randomly open it with the expectation that God would guide my to a relevant passage. Of course, He did. Opened the book, and there it was. First passage I read. Thank you, Jesus 🙂

“Pray every day. Pray for help in every matter. Pray both when you are afraid and when you are celebrating. If you continuously pray you will be continuously helped. Praying is simply talking to God regularly and asking for love and support as you journey through life. Because you are loved and treasured by God unconditionally as a divine child, your prayers will always be answered, even if not precisely how you expect them to be. Angels serve you, but work for God. They help you because God wants you to be helped. That is why you pray to God. God is the boss. God hears your prayers and sends angels in response. Lots and lots of them.” (Sonia Choquette. Ask Your Guides.)

So I’m going through my voice memos from last year and I wish had continued with them, but I didn’t. And life has changed quite a bit. This is going to be my first, but I hope I’ll stick with it. But I noticed it was May of last year… I have come quite far since last May. Um, I found Jesus or Jesus found me. I continue to question quick it is, maybe it’s both. But I am grateful. Since last May the summer was crazy, a little run down. John was very very sick last year. Very very sick. (As I listen to this voice memo I can tell my heart is breaking and I’m crying. I was so sad. So so sad.) And Bryanna was very very sick. Emotionally. Spiritually. It was a bad bad time. And, uh, we always hoped John would get better. Prayed for that. But it was I guess last summer when we moved them out of their house when John was in the hospital. That whole crazy timeframe when Bryanna was in such despair that I feel like my rescue happened, I guess that’s what I call it, and thinking back it’s when I found my church. And everything fell into place to guide me along. And then, John died. And then. Ok I’m not going to say he died. His body died. His spirit went home. So I know he’s home. With God and Jesus. And my time with the church is what saved me. So I am grateful for that. That place helping me to, work on building my relationship with Jesus. So, it’s been so going. But it’s always been there. Since then, I should say. Then early December, December 4th, I was baptized at the church. And since then my life has changed, not outwardly. But inwardly. I have changed. I am a different person. I am not the person I was before. And I credit my faith in Jesus for that. My faith in God. Because even though things don’t transpire the way I want them to I know God has a plan, and looking back I see how everything has fallen into place on His timeline. It has. I’m grateful for His grace, and His kindness and His wisdom. So thank you, Jesus. I am grateful that I know that I am a child of God and all that entails. So here it is, the end of March 2024. It’s been, almost 6 months since John has been gone. There have been changes in my life, our lives, my family’s lives. External and internal. So I guess I’ll just leave it at that now. Just an update on what’s been going on since last May, my last voice recording. But, it’s been a rough rough road. It’s been difficult and the despair comes and goes, but I’m coming out of it. And as I come out of it, I realize I am changed.
