August 26, 2022: That’s when this picture was taken. Before everything blew up and life was turned upside down. Before John got sick. Before we went through hell. Before I found Jesus. I had to go back to then to find any sort of photo of me because I had a lifelong fear of the camera… of committing my physical body to film and having it be viewed by people. And judged. At least that’s what I thought would happen. Judged.
So I smoked some weed, didn’t care (at the moment) what anyone thought, and figured I’d take a pic of myself in case I ever needed one. Needed one now. So here it is. Sitting on my front porch, in my happy place, being at peace and loving life… 3 months before Ally had heart failure and John was diagnosed with cancer. Ally got better. John didn’t. My heart broke.
Fix your eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
